From TradingMarkets.com:

Norwegian cash handling solutions provider PSI Group ASA (OSE: PSI) said on Wednesday (10 September) that it has received an exclusive framework contract for digital signage from Mestergruppen AS.

The contract covers the implementation of PSI Group's IP-based interactive information solution MyTV Media throughout Mastergruppen's building materials chain Byggeriet.

The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed, but PSI Group confirmed that the deal represents a breakthrough for digital signage in Norway.

PSI Group ASA is headquartered in Raelingen, Norway. The company has 360 employees in Scandinavia and Europe, and reported sales of NOK463m in 2007.

Our take:

Believe it or not, Norway actually is a hotbed of digital signage business these days, so it's quite possible that a "breakthrough" deal represents something very large, very innovative, or both.  Or, it could be that PSI Group has succumbed to the temptation of publishing ridiculous PR in the hopes of boosting their share price, drumming up some new business, or just trying to look impressive.

I don't think WireSpring has encountered the MyTV Media package on this side of the Atlantic.  For that matter, I'm not sure if we've ever encountered it on the other side of the Atlantic either. So if it's a new package and not something that has been vetted by numerous other clients, it seems extremely unlikely that they'd start out by winning (and deploying) a big deal.

Norway is the worldTMs third-biggest oil producer (also blessed with vast reserves of gas, fresh water and fish) but often gets ignored when we are talking about Digital Out of Home. Norway is a country so wealthy that despite having a population of just 4.5 million, it is a major player on the world stage BUT WE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF MYTV Media and we are regular visits to Scandinavia. I think as you say just another over-blown press release.
