AdAge is picking up on the trend of turning vacant storefront windows into digital billboards, as we talked about last month on Digital Signage News. The model is attractive to landlords who would otherwise not be making any money on their empty buildings, advertisers, who have a new, large-format and street-level medium to play with (currently at quite low cost, too), and, of course, viewers who are generally pretty enthusiastic about the often over-the-top interactive and all-kinds-of-gimmicky spots running on the virtual screens.
